What is Circuit breaker ?
A
circuit breaker is an electrical safety device designed to protect an
electrical circuit from damage caused by excess current from an overload or
short circuit.
It
functions as a switch that automatically interrupts the flow of electricity
when it detects a fault in the circuit.
When an
overload or short circuit occurs, the circuit breaker trips, cutting off the
flow of electricity to prevent damage to the electrical wiring or appliances,
and reducing the risk of fire or electrical hazards.
Once the fault is corrected, the
circuit breaker can be reset to restore power to the circuit. Circuit breakers
come in various types and sizes to accommodate different voltage levels and
current capacities.
